Beda takes third overall in British Quad Championship Round three
ATV World Yamaha team rider Leon Beda secured third place overall at the Desert martin track in round three of the ACU British MMX Quad Championships. The sand track had been well prepared by the event orgainsers and was ready for some ATV race action!
In round one there were good results from Leon Beda who finished fifth while other ATV World Yamaha riders picked up valuable points. In race two, Leon put in another solid fifth place performance and his consistency paid off, taking the third place overall on the day. Sean Goss had his most impressive race of the season so far taking a superb sixth place finish while other team riders continued picking up the points.
The shoulder injury sustained in round two by John Mitchell was clearly causing him too much pain to ride as he had to stop short in qualifying. Determined to be involved, John went out on his standard Yamaha YFZ450R in race one but again the pain caused to many problems as he opted to just take it slow didn’t enter race two. John and the team will be hoping he can recover well from this unfortunate injury.
The development of the ATV World Yamaha YFZ450R continues well as team riders put it through to the test in race meetings. Team manager Martin Fletcher expects the machine to be ready soon to put up a challenge for a podium position. “Both on and off the track we are carefully developing the Yamaha YFZ450R to get the best possible performance from it. I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen, now we need to put it in a race and get a good result.”
Leon now goes into round four in an excellent overall fourth place in the championship and he’ll be looking in put the pressure on for third place. Round four to be held on either Sunday 24th or Monday 25th May at Frome in Somerset. Hope to see you there!
