Outdoors, Inc. is a Wisconsin-based marketer of gun cases,
all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accessories, and other outdoor
recreation products.
Kolpin Manufacturing,
Inc. was founded in 1943 in Fox Lake, Wisconsin by Howard
and Avis Kolpin and has since grown into one of the most
recognized brands in the hunting industry under the direction
of Howard's son, Ron Kolpin.
Ron is an avid
hunter who takes an active role in designing, testing
and improving the products the company sells.
Recently, in
the spring of 2001, Kolpin was purchased by the Facilitator
Capital Fund, a private equity group headquartered in
Madison, Wis., and Patrick Gantert, the former president
of LaCrosse Footwear, Inc.
In
the new venture, Ron Kolpin will continue to work with
the business in a product development capacity, while
Patrick Gantert will assume the role of president.
The company has two primary product groups: the sporting
goods product line, which includes gun and bow cases and
accessories; and the burgeoning powersports product line,
which includes luggage, gun cases, and other accessories
to outfit all-terrain vehicles.
